PULL is a Twin Cities–based collaboration between cellist Sophia Deutsch and harpist Victoria Carpenter. The duo combines cello, harp, and voice with analog tape delay, looping systems, and electronic processing to create evolving drone-based improvisational soundscapes.
The project moves across live performance, recording, film, and physical media. PULL’s debut self-titled record will be released as both an LP and an archival artifact box containing screenprints, risographs, and other materials from the PULL world.
An accompanying short film—combining VHS, 8mm film, and digital footage—is currently in development and will follow the record’s release.
PULL has recorded at Zoo School Studios (St. Croix Falls, WI) and Evergreen Studios (Minneapolis, MN).
